Inspiration
I get my inspiration from many things: museums, artists, city trips, different cultures and neighborhoods. Flea markets are a great source as well, i really love to visit them and get inspiration like details for garments or little pieces for a feeling. I always design from an emotion created by something I experienced, a piece of music or a certain image. I try to translate that feeling into a concept, trough pictures, music, fabrics, artwork and everything that fits the feeling to finally translate it into a design.
Most beautiful city
I adore Paris! Last year I went there for two weeks and for a moment it felt like living there. Paris is so diverse, i love the lots of many different neighborhoods and the excessive number of musea, small galleries and markets on the corner of the streets. I love Paris because of its hidden places, like small old bookstores to find great catches or remote clubs with new unknown bands and music. It’s a city with personality and with possibility, i just love the whole atmosphere.
The highlight during INDIVIDUALS was the selection of the sets for the catwalk show at Amsterdam International Fashion Week. It was so nice to see how everything comes together. We start designing as eight different designers with eight different styles and it is so amazing to see that it all comes together in a certain way.
