Inspiration
I don’t go out and search for inspiration but I just bump into it along the way. After I finished a piece or a collection I always see that I used elements of pictures I found. These pictures I cut out from magazines, books, postcards etc. I don’t use inspiration literally. For example I had a photograph from an old kitchen sink from a friend of mine who is a painter. There were all splashes of paint over it. The picture was a great source of inspiration to me, because of the colors.

Biggest pride
At the end of my second year at AMFI, we had a project about costumes, the fabric we had to use was very ugly. So I took it a step further. Of bike tires I have woven panels and I stuck foil on top of it. Out of this fabric I made a dress. I really worked with the material, I focused on the way it fell around the body.

Collecting mania
All my old stuff is very dear to me. Especially the jewelry of my grandmother. My grandmother used to run a sewing studio so I think I have a lot in common with her. It is a shame she passed away eight years ago. I regret not being able to share that passion with her anymore.
